JeMaja and Anne both were involved with East West Bookstore on Fifth Avenue and 14th Street until it closed in 2010. JeMaja was the Director of Metaphysical Services and Outreach. Anne presented a weekly lecture on Astrology with co-hosts. They said hello to each other every week. One dark and starry New Year’s Eve, the store owner had a Meditation for Women led by a woman Ceremonialist. About 50 women attended. The Ceremonialist opened the circle and began the New Year’s Eve ceremony. At 11:30 pm, the Ceremonialist announced she had to leave for another party. We were all shocked! The store owner turned to JeMaja, her Director of Metaphysical Services and said “What do we do now?” A fine mess indeed! JeMaja turned and looked at Anne. Our eyes exchanged, “We’ve worked together before -just not in this life time!” So once more unto the breach, dear friend! We jumped in and took over!! We proceeded to conduct the rest of the ritual and ushered in an illuminating New Year.
As Laurel and Hardy used to say, “This is another fine mess you’ve gotten me into!” So here we are, JeMaja and Anne, starting another fine mess to assist the world to navigate as the ceremonial leaders have apparently left the room.
